Big Medicine features one average-sized pool and a small hot tub sitting in a quiet part of the town of Hot Springs, Montana. The pool is fed by natural geothermal waters and is covered by an awning, keeping the sun off your shoulders in the summer and the snow and ice out of the water in the winter. An $8 honor payment is made in a box.

Unlike Alameda’s, the hotel rooms at Symes are not connected to the local geothermal waters. However, guests here can enjoy the generously sized pools that offer plenty of space for the whole family to soak and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere of Hot Springs, Montana.
There are three pools, two of which are connected by a gentle waterfall. The smaller, upper tub (107°F/42°C) flows via the waterfall into the lower pool (101°F/38°C), and the third pool is a standard-size (20ft x 40ft x 5ft) swimming pool (95°F/35°C).
Guests also have access to four clawfoot tubs filled with the local geothermal waters, as well as a jetted hot tub and jacuzzi at an hourly rate.

The hot springs are only open to guests of the hotel. However, if you wish to swim in the springs without renting a room, you can reserve a space during one of the following 4-hour public soaking blocks: 8am – 12pm, 12pm – 4pm, and 4pm – 8pm.
Quinn’s natural, unsalted pools sit at 100°F – 106°F (38°C – 41°C). Its two salted pools range from 90° to 100°F (35°C – 38°C), suitable for all ages. The ice plunge sits at 55°F (13°C).

6. Nimrod Warm Springs

A truly natural experience
Nimrod Warm Springs is a completely undeveloped, all-natural warm spring pool off I-90 near the Clark Fork River between Drummond and Missoula. A large rock formation sits on its bank, and warm spring water flows down the hillside into the large pool below.
The water is a crystal clear, unique shade of blue. Paired with the surrounding scenery, it’s truly a lovely atmosphere. The water here, however, is much colder than the typical hot spring, sitting at roughly 70°F (21°C) year-round. This makes it an ideal option for hot summer days.
